That was a workout...thanks to my son and my brother, I was able to get the 292 and the trans out as one unit. Doing this while keeping the riveted transmission crossmember in was accomplished by disconnecting the rag joint, unbolting the front cab mounts, and simultaneously jacking up the front of the cab just a few inches. (I had enough slack in the brake lines) After that, it was just a wrestling match the rest of the way. I’ll clean up the tools tomorrow...but for now, I’m calling it a night.
