There's some debate whether the following '#10" screws are supposed to be #8. I can only say they don't fit through the #8 hole in my gauge. Here you go:
Cowl seal: The seal seats between the cowl and panel. The flat portion of the seal rests against the top of the cowl. There are six screw holes in the seal, and two slots to clear the windshield washer nozzle brackets.
Cowl panel install:
• The panel mounts to the cowl using six #2 phillips panhead tap screws with spin washers. The screw threads are #10" x 5/8". The screws were black zinc phosphate. These screws secure the cowl seal as well.
• The panel mounts to the cowl using four stainless steel #2 phillips panhead tap screws & J-nuts. The screw threads are #10 x 1/2". The J-nuts are 1/2" (W) x 5/8" (L), with center hole to edge of 1/2".
• The panel mounts using four (GR 5) recessed tapered bolts with spin washers. The bolt threads are 3/4" to 7/8" long under the spin washer.
You can buy a kit for the six #10 screws, which generally come stainless steel. Come to think of it, I believe the seal I bought came with black screws.
