True. Good point. When I rebuilt my 292 the first time in 1977, I resprayed my Argent Silver 17.5x5.25 stock rims White because I liked the look. The hip thing to do then was to use aircraft white paint, but I couldn't get my hands on any.
When I needed new wheels in 2000, I stayed with White.
But the silver looks good. The PO advised me to hit them with aluminum spraypaint every year, [and the step-bumper.]
