I know this thread wasn't started for me and my '49, but I just bought a bag of (50), 3/8x24 (grade 8) bolts from Fastenal yesterday for $20...After being told by Bowtie-bits to try Ebay.
The pillar side it definitely 24 thread pitch. Just ran a tap through them last weekend. I guess I assumed the door side was the same.
I've got the other half of the bag it somebody wants them.
