Thanks everyone for the information. The track record of the PO on the truck has lead me to question things I find. So it's a PITA from GM and that's what it is. Since the engine is coming out I thought I should ask if there was a better way to mount the pump now would be the time to correct it. I will be cleaning up the unit and will make sure the bolt that holds the two brackets together is serviceable. That's an awfully nice bracket you have there Grumpy. SHINY!!!!!! Thanks for sharing.
