I just got my system going last night. Part of it was installing a new condenser.
I am not a certified AC technician but I have been doing my own AC work for
about 30 years. From you description of things, I believe that you should leave
the grill out and let a shop get it going. Please don't take this as any kind of
put down. It's just advice.
