My '63 always had blue with a blue valve cover.
Of course, I could be wrong in your case. I'm sure someone will correct me. I just think it's supposed to all be blue.

After removing several years of grease I discovered a remanufacturer's name plate. ,
Is there a way to match the block serial number to the VIN on a 64 C10? Rephrased, if the motor is original shouldn't they end with the same numbers? My block has the number F07I7N, which in no way resembles the VIN.
