I think the only way is to make the album public and then link the URL of the photo but I am not a google-fu black belt. I think google should have the least amount of my information anyway. Hussey I think used google as a host for a while. maybe he will chime in.
I have had good luck with flickr, recommended by gigamanx, the only cumbersome thing I have encountered is that it takes 8 clicks to upload a photo: upload, choose photo, add to albums, done, upload, confirm, upload. it doesnt take a lot of time to click buttons, but they scatter them all over the page, so its 1 oclock 6 oclock, 9 oclock, 1 oclock, 6 oclock etc. might be easier on mobile. and when you share you have to remember to click the bb code link to get the bb formatted link. might be simpler to just upload here.
