I use to get new ( to me ) GM vehicles in the 80's and 90's and "Jerk" the key out with it in the run position, just so I didn't have to fiddle with keys.

I also know a guy that breaks the key off in the ignition in everything he buys. Of course we're kind of Rednecks though...
