I'd use a - Forming Tap - which can be done in - Two Stages . .
Go for a Class 3A Thread - so it's Snug on New Hardware . Most Hardware
Is Class 2A - and Class 1B Being Sloppy Crap from China .. Type workmanship ..

If You really want Great Class threads then Get Forming Taps made to do " J " Threads
