The collector joint is slipped over the outside of the collector. It is a type of "V" flange. It slides over several inches & is a very tight fit. Only a few spot welds are required to hold it in place. It does not leak. That is the only place that is spot welded.
Yes it is a DIY4x inboard kit. I like it. Just remember you need much stiffer shock rates when your shocks are inboard. Even stiffer when they are leaning.
