i decided to go ahead and fix the rust right behind the 3rd door...got it lined up and cut out. the piece i bought wasnt wide enough...so im gonna have to make a piece to fit i guess. this piece is from a blazer so it wasnt exactly a direct replacement but i got it cut and it fit pretty good.
here it is cut out...sprayed with rust preventative then rough tough enamel.
and here it is tacked in..
still have to fully weld it up, but its coming along. making the piece to fill that gap should be interesting...i really dont have anything to bend the metal to make the curve at the bottom, so well see what happens lol |
