I did start some work on that iconic 57 only "Egg Crate" grille. I welded the entire outer lip flush to remove the seams in the metal. I think I am going to try to implement the "floating" style with the vertical cross supports removed and the grille center section floating in the middle. If anyone knows how this is done and is willing to share, I would love to hear it.
