Reviving this thread.. I have a sensor in my 64 that is from an equus temp gauge, (buddy had the gauge, didn't need the sensor.) Same issue, wired right to the stock gauge, buries on hot.

So if I throw a 13 ohm inline resistor, this should fix my issue of not reading right?
