Curious why you rip out the engine and wiring right off the bat? Obviously you know more about the history, but the engine may be fine. Wiring could also be OK or a train wreck.
I would take a more measured approach. See if the engine turns and if so build the carburetor and run it from a gas can. If it won't turn, see it you can unstick it. Probably would pull the distributor and run the oil pump with a drill before I tried to start it. Maybe it does need replacing, but 350s are tough. They can stand sitting long periods and made to go again.
