They were 100% removed all the way into the jamb then a 3/8" rod was welded in place changing the opening size of the door ever so slightly to close up the gap a bit. Then the interior of thejamb had another piece of filler welded in to smooth out the jamb.

And no this was not the look that I was going for, The owner of the truck designed it and I am just helping bring it about
