Re: long and hopefully good thread

so heaters! wow loads of stuff here on this site and a bunch of great info too. however, I will say if you're looking for a replacement part like say a resistor, or a switch not one time did I see it listed. Damn guys help me out, but through a bunch of reading and finding stuff I managed to find the parts and I will list them!!! funny huh. all this info and learning and I cant find one part number for a switch or a resistor or a manual valve to shut off the water to the econo air I have. well here is a pic of the econo box fan motor minus the resistor.
I tested the fan I jumped the single prong on the motor to the hot on a battery charger, then took the ground on the charger to the body of the fan assembly. the fan growled a little but it ran hard and blew bee carcasses every where. that worked great. the battery charger supplies 12vdc + or - I don't have a battery or a power supply and Its what I've used for testing when I NEED 12 vdc. NOTE: should not us this method on delicate electronics. fusing should be used but its an old fan if it blows up just replace it. did same on my wiper motor.
The whole unit comes apart very easy with a 1/4 socket and that's what I did. pulled it apart and got rid of the surface rust, painted and reassembled. this looks almost brand new to me anyway. here's the parts:
resistor
ACDelco 22807122 GM Original Equipment Heating and Air Conditioning Blower Motor Resistor. This is supposed to be the factory replacement. it looks nothing like you might find else where. but it supposed to be the correct part. I got mine at amazon $34
switch
HBSW60_1960. this i got at Classic trucks USA. seriously only place I could find it and know it was the correct one. looks exactly like my original.
water valve shut off
HAC-139_1960 got it also at Classic trucks USA. this alters the stock set up but there is NO reason to have that heater core HOT in the summer time so I need the hot water shut off.
just found that www.classicparts.com has the switch the resistor and the new switch covers. So I think Im going there. here are their numbers: 68-376 and 68-326 these are the important numbers anyway
