Re: 5-speed for 69 C10?
To clear up a few things the early 4 and 2.8 6's had the T-5 the mid year 88 model year[was a half year change] when the 4.3 was first made available in the S-10, and the 4.3 was the only one to get the NV3500. the others had the T-5's. The best way to do this the way I have researched it and plan on doing it for my "project Cheapie"are to use a V-8 T-5 trans from a Camaro and a tail housing from a S-10 to move the shifter into a better location in the cab. I know that is taking two to make one but I scrounged around and ended up with both for only $150 so I think it is still doable and since it will bolt to the bellhousing where the three speed was is the best route to go.
