Use a straight edge to determine how much of the jam needs to come forward ,

Using your cut off wheel cut 1"in from the edge to 1/2" past the length you want to move forward
using a stud gun pin ang pull forward from the door jam that section lightly until your happy with the fit . Tack weld patch panel in place and work as usual.

Most all doors have a distortion in that area from the manufactor processing of the door panel , you can add multiple tacks to build up the area or tack some rod in place and grind to fit , this area gets overlooked many time even on high end truck builds . Have fun , but remember it's only metal ...
