I didn't do a very extensive cleaning, just wanted to wipe off some of the heavier grime.

So, when some PO converted to a push button starter, they also apparently replaced the ignition switch plug. Which means the new ignition switch I bought from lmc does not fit.

I guess I'll try to track down an OEM style ignition switch plug to hook it back up.
