I bolted in a 1987 power steering box and run the pressure and return line to my 2005 steering pump (with res) and all appeared fine.

I have noticed the either the pump or box has a whirring noise when I turn the whee, this was the case right from the start and I also recently developed a very small leak. The box was a rebuild unit and I'm wondering if I blew out a seal near the pitman. There does appear to be a small witness mark near the pressure line but I don't see a trail to the drip location and the lines are tight.

Could there be a mis-match in pressure from the pump to the box which would cause this or might this be a bad box?
