Interesting pictures. Do you know for sure that they are 5000's? Especially the truck in the 2nd picture, if it had a 478 it could very well be a 6500.

That truck sure reminds me of my old 6500. Even right down to the Lumber it is hauling. I drove a '62 GMC 6500 back in the '70's.

Budd Wheels (Disc) vs Dayton Wheels (Spokes). It's a West Coast thing vs an East Coast thing. You will find that most truckers in the West prefered Budd's and most in the East prefer Daytons. I've been studying that for years and don't really know the answer why. I personally, from the East, follow along with the other East Coasters and prefer Daytons, lol. Even the guys that work on them seem to follow the same suit. We had another debate on them not to long ago on the other truck board.

Both those trucks are either '64 or '65's. By sight, there is really no way of telling.
