Honestly ripping into the column is not something I want to do. If I had one to practice on maybe I would but isn't that what we have guys on this board do. If we were all pros at ALL the things on these trucks we wouldn't need them. Right? Anyway Mine won't stay in park so trying to work on it while its running is well just plane scary and it flops like a wet rag. I hear great things about Kev on here and that he can make it like new. I may take mine and rebuild it myself and sell it.

If your truck won't stay in park, the problem is not in the column. It will either be the linkage going to the transmission, or the detent plate located at the base of the column is worn. Regardless of which column you decide to go with, you will still have to use that detent plate.
