Nice parts scores. That lever is actually the throttle pressure cable for the valve body. It raises the line pressure with throttle demand. Without it you'll burn up the clutches in the trans. The torque converter is turned on and off by a solenoid on the valve body. Same with the overdrive unit. You can use toggle switches or a compushift mini to run the trans.
