Re: 1969 Chevy CST/10 comes home [Long-term project "OrangeCrush"]

Longtime, no update (not that is being faithfully followed )

Made a cowl vent screen a few months ago:
Cowl vent screen made, and installed:

And then Today, was a good day. I found the 'toy store' of 60-87 Chevy trucks. Outback truck parts in Spring every part needed, and killer prices. So for $120 we got 2 headlight bucket adjustment plates (hard as hell to find), headlight hardware, glove box, new hindge and spring (badly needed a right one, youll see) , and then trim clips and a center A/C vent. Some stuff is for later, but you couldnt beat the price at the place...

anyhoo, new hood hindge:

See anything wrong with that one?

So new hindge and spring

Closes flush now! Before, any time you opened it, the hindge bent more and more. To the point where the hood closed and you had a near 2 inch gap at the cowl. Now its all pretty uniform all around. And finally, its not a PITA to try and lift the hood up on the emblem with one hand while the other holds the latch. Now it pops up on the 2nd latch, and lifts with ease

And with the trim clips the rear tail light trim clipped on

The engine will be here soon, when ever we can get into my dads storage center and bring home the engine stand.
