The lightweight should not be a problem for any of the half tons as long as you don't load the bed with lot's of heavy gear. Get a weight distribution hitch kit, they're a couple hundred bucks. Plus have it setup correctly from a camper or hitch shop. Get a trailer brake, test it when you start your road trips. Go slow in the wind with a lightweight! I would really test the turning radius of the 4x4 trucks vs the 2wd. A good turning radius makes backing into tight spots easier.
