yes you can, but not if it had a 292, if it had a 250 you can, i didnt do the swap but the owner before me did........
ive compared my trucks engine position to factory 4x4 v8 trucks and its a good 1 1/2-2"s further back
and the factory v8 4x4s sit pretty far back themselves......
