Fitting the old neck to the new tank is definitely an option. We always provide the caution to our customers that this type of operation will lead to rust if the tank is not sealed and is used with gasoline containing ethanol. The cost on this type of work can vary depending on whether the tank has been used at all, or is brand new and has never had fuel in it. On the highest side, it can be close to $200, although typically it is just over $150.

You may also be able to find a molded fuel hose that will allow you to go around the body mounts. While those might be hard to find through the auto parts stores, you may have better luck with truck parts places.

I hope this helps.

I moved my tank forward to just clear the body mount. This Makes running the exhaust a little tight between the tank and axle but solved the filler neck issue.
