As a couple of the guys said the location of the fuel pump is the quick positive indicator of a 292 compared to the smaller engines.
I can't find my 250 engine photos right now but this is the right side of the 292 destined for my 48. Note that the motor mount is between the fuel pump and distributor and the just over six inch height of the side covers.


Also the 292 usually has a large bypass hose from the head to the fuel pump

That you don't see on the smaller engines.
