I've also herd that its alot smaller than it used to be and its tough to get a spot, would you have any info. that may help me on getting a spot to camp and do some Wheelin' over a weekend?

Like your K5 really looks and sounds like a blast!

Thanks!
The open sand camping is first come, basically you drive on the beach until you get to the "open" area. from there you can camp anyware. Some take the beach al the way to the end. We camp in the middle around pole # 5. The poles are numbered as you go towards the end.
Ya, The area is shrinking because of the greenies trying to save a ground nesting bird so alot of the back dunes are closed. It's still fairly large, large enough to get lost at night hahahaa
I recomend getting a camping reservation at http://www.reserveamerica.com/
Any of the big weekends you will need to buy months in advance as they only alow so many campers on the dunes per night. There are RV parks out on the pavement too but you cannot drive offroad viehicals from the RV park to the dunes so camping on the sand is the only way to doit with quads or whatever..
The offical name is Oceano Dunes SVRA
