Thanks
LockDoc for the links to the other posts and
big.mike in the last of those links for putting up that list of wiring harness URLs. This REALLY answered the mail.
After reading the discussion and checking out the sources, I think I'm going to be using 2 or 3 of the panels sold by
www.americanautowire.com.
Here's the direct link
http://www.americanautowire.com/prod...ccessories.cfm
For about $100 or less I can get about 24, circuits that'll each carry up to 30 Amps. Since the inside harness is getting heavily modified anyway, it doesn't make sense to buy a standard one like the Painless or Ron Francis ones and then waste a large portion of it.
Sure, I'll be on my back a lot with bi-focals that won't focus and a droplight shining in my eyes, but that's the part we all call "fun".
Right now I'm thinking of getting three 8 circuit panels. 8 will be for circuits that are continually on (dome light, clock, curtesy and headlights, horn, etc. ) and the rest for the circuits that are only on when the key is in the "on" or "accessory" position. Power for the amp/subs will get driven off a separate fused circuit (bus) coming from the battery or solenoid connection.
Cant wait to dig in.
Thanks again.
Mike
