I like those! That's kinda what I was thinking at first for mine. I actually bought a pair of 68 Challenger tails, but later decided against them.
I don't really have a write-up on the Cobalt taillights, but I can just tell you what I did. I got a pair of them and a stick of steel rod. I sat on my garage floor for about an hour bending the rod into two hoops that fit the edge of the lights just how I wanted. Then I cut them and welded the ends together., traced them into the fenders, cut the holes out roughly, then welded the hoops into the fenders. Then I ground the holes smooth. Then I made a tripod basket sort of thing for each light, and welded bolts into the insides of the fenders to retain them. Filler, primer, paint, done! I also used some sticky foam weatherstripping around the leading edge of the lights to keep them snug in the holes without scraping the paint.
I haven't wired the rear of the truck yet... And I just realized the foam has come loose.
