Olds Bravada used the viscous coupling also. But yes, if you are using a GM drivetrain they are all trans + transfer case.

Suggestion - take one of the above units, make a block off plate and stub shaft set up for the front, and use it divorced. Allows you to place it where you want (within driveshaft limitations of course). Similar to a standard divorced transfer case.
