slow, been there done that
had the same with removing drip rail. I ended up doing about a 10" to 12" section at a time, cut relief cut in top and pushed down to meet the other two metal pieces. Tack welded them together and then filled in. A little work, but turned out nice. Here's some pics showing what I did, hope in helps...Jim
