Resurrecting this old thread to ask if anyone has done this conversion recently. It seems that neither of the recommended parts (struts / ball studs) are available any longer.
I found some 10mm 1/4"-20 ball studs at Orr & Orr (part# H-9524) but they are $1.50/each and the four needed don't qualify for their minimum order amount. If anyone wants to do a group order, let me know.
Regarding the struts, I found the Stabilus Lift Supports 4B-877865 which are just shy of 13" collapsed and 22.3" extended (which is close) but unknown compression force. Any thoughts on compatibility would be appreciated, thanks.
