He had a sawmill too, and we would take the pickup up to the woods just to cut, and then take the truck to the woods to skid and load. He had a Model A doodlebug skidder and another Model A turned backwards with a tractor front loader mounted on it.
Of course I have no pictures because that was back in the film & develop days, and besides never imagined that it would be interesting 45 years later. |
I had to look up what a doodlebug was... pretty damn cool, what they did back in the day!
