I am working on my dash/gauges now Rian. Yours look like mine a bit. I am going to say you are missing the ground circuit for the guages to start with as that was the issue on mine so far. On mine it looks like some dummy (that would be me in a fit of non thinking) cut the main ground wire by the headlight. Yours could be a crack in the circuit board, or an issue with the ground lead for the cluster.

Glad ya got the tierods back together again.
