I can tell you are pretty passionate about this topic, may I ask why it bothers you so much? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't your truck have an earlier frame swapped in?
If I desired to own a 4x4 60-66 this is likely the route I would take. If I had a truck with a damaged frame and the only replacement I could find was a later model, I possibly would try this route was well.
The person you are mocking has a good looking truck. From the pictures he provided the work appears well done. I don't understand the disgruntlement in how others choose to build their trucks.
