OK folks, we can all breath a sigh of relief!! THE TRANSMISSION IS "IN CORRECT" and nothing "custom" had to be done!!

We have also confirmed that in fact, a 400 is longer than 4L80 by several inches as was quite apparent by the need to lengthen the driveshaft. HOWEVER, the transmission mounting point on both is within 1/2 inch of one another.

I'm glad we are past this bump in the road!!
