I don't know the answer to the OP,but I'd like to point out that a 1969 307 in stock tune,burning the more potent gas of that era was rated at 200 gross hp (150-157 net) and 300 ft/lbs torque (255-260 net depending on smog equipment). That was for a new motor at 9.0-1 compression.
So I would say that's a plan unless you have make substantial performance upgrades.
