A BB chev 454 is 4" even on the stroke, so its not to hard to see why the "other" bigblocks make so much tork way down low(nice hauler mills)  having run both Olds & caddy, the Olds is still my favorite big block(just my choice)......if you guys really dig a 401 Rambler, go for it! I cant wait to see what mine does in the truck, just picked up a olds 455 and startin the tear down now for the build
