Yes you can...other thing that may need to be done is shortening your drive shaft or getting a drive shaft for a long wheel base chevy astro/ gmc safari van non awd.it should slip right in. Chances are you will need to change rear joint to a cross over joint.meaning it has 2 different sized cups to Match to your truck yoke. As stated trimming the input shaft and bearing retainer down is the quickest way to go..the above is the way I did my swap on a 54 3100 with a 78 rear diff.
