Thare are always different levels of "right"

Im the king of short cuts but if this is a important ride and you don't know how it was done before.

Take it to bare metal and go from there.

Which is real easy if you use "aircraft" stripper from autozone.

litteraly in 3sec the paint will just fall off, no scrapin, scrubin, sandin, bare metal in the blink of an eye. And as such the stuff will burn the heck out of you if it gets on your skin. But once hit with water it stops the effects.
