The last thing I did last night was to remove the adapter and clean it out. The relief valve was sticking a bit but seemed to work ok once I cleaned it out. There was some sludge in the bolt holes but not too bad. I put it all back together but again after only a few seconds it blew out again.
Is the relief valve on the adapter the only one or is there one in the pump? When I was cleaning the valve out I would have bet it was the issue or at least part of the issue. That should have relieved instead of blowing the gasket.
