Re: Testing Windshield Wiper Motors

Hey Mike, I tested w/meter and had 11.3 at motor, but I think I know what the problem has been all along, am embarrassed to post this but I have to come clean. I misread the 70 service manual where it says "depending on your wiring harness you could have a 3 or 4 terminal motor, the standard replacement is a 4 terminal". I took that as the motors were interchangeable but that IS NOT what it says, it says if you have a 3 or 4 you will replace with a 4, it doesnt say if you have wiring for a 4, you can install a 3 and it will work. That would explain a lot of things.....I havent changed back to a 4 yet, but I am betting it will work. If you and lockdoc etc. assumed I knew this, my apologies, somebody quoted John Wayne, "Lifes tough, its even tougher when you are stupid"I laughed when I read it, doesnt seem so funny this morning. later Mav.
