I have been driving with the SM465 for 39 years and in 4 trucks.I wouldn't look at anything else. That 3to4 does have quite a spread But I just put in new heads 72cc and dual exhaust and a moderate cam that makes a big difference.Lots more torque in the lower RPMs in 4th. Very driveable. K20,86 body,74frame and 84 running gear.Perfect set up. And 13.5 MPG.
