Maybe buy a crate engine from Jegs/summit....I believe they sell a 350 cheap with low HP.... 1500 bucks would be in the range of these engines I believe. Plus they provide some sort of a warranty....

I am sure there has been many debates on this forum regarding cheap builds, crate engines, build your own engines etc etc etc.......

I am assuming this 69 c10 does not have an engine in it today correct ? If you did you most likely could build it or run it as is and install a overdrive trans with your 1500 bucks....

A 69 c10 is not in the discussion on gas mileage...... GOOD LUCK...
