I learned how to drive on a stick.....and learned that you'd better push the clutch in before you start it. Not saying it didn't come in handy to not do that, like when my clutch release pivot broke on the inside of my bell housing and I had to start it in gear to be able to get it home.

I hear what you're saying....but if twisting those two wires together will allow it to start, then it will work. If anyone has cruise control, depressing the clutch will not disengage the cruise, although hitting the brake will.
