The S10 is not way to narrow. Its not the common way thats been done forever using the camaro/nova front or rear steer front clip. I have never liked the wheel offset used in these frame grafts.
If you want the wheels/tires tucked in wheel wells, wider fronts, pro touring, Dubs diecast look go for it.
58/59's are longer in the front, you should be able to center the tire in the wheelwell with no problem. The radiator will probably have to be offset because of the gearbox.
I was going this route on my 57, but the gearbox was gonna go through front radiator surround. In my particular case it wasn't what I wanted. I bought a 56 1/2" hub to hub IFS crossmember on the Eb site -the same width as the S10/ G body for just over $200. Mines gonna be low and the wheels are gonna be tucked in. Like these...
