The rods from the bottom of the shifter to the levers on the transmission, do not interchange from Chevy to Mopar on these transmissions.
The fingers coming out of the bottom of the shifter body are also different between the two versions.

Well,
To make this all even more interesting after I went thru all the trouble to get this NP440 , it won't reaally shift into reverse ! I'll probly send that one back . Another one is being sent to me from an wrecker in about a week WITH the original 1986 shifter included !
Gotta love these wrecking yards .
Before all this I bought this shifter (pictured, a bit different positioned to the left of hump) on ebay for about $200 ....
